Dr. Thomas E. Hutson is recognized internationally as a leader in the field of urologic cancers, has authored over 500 scholarly works which includes original research, monographs and book chapters, is regularly invited to speak at medical venues around the world, and has been the clinical lead investigator on several international research trials. He has had leadership roles in several national research groups including the Sarah Cannon Research Institute where he continues to serve on the GU Research Executive Committee and co-leads the Phase 1b/2 clinical trial program. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Kidney Cancer Journal and serves on the editorial boards of Expert Review of Anticancer Therapy, Cure, among others. Dr. Hutson practiced at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas for 21 years and served as the Co-Director of the Urologic Cancer Research and Treatment Center as well as the Director of the Swim Across America supported Innovative Clinical Trial Center.

Dr. Hutson received his medical degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. He completed Residency in Internal Medicine, Fellowships in Hematology and Medical Oncology as well as Experimental Therapeutics at the Cleveland Clinic.

Faith and the relationship between religion and medicine has been of particular importance to
Dr. Hutson. He has pursued several additional degrees including a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; a Master of Biblical and Theological Studies degree from Dallas Theological Seminary; a Master of Public Health degree from Yale University; a Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership degree from Brown University; and a Master of Jurisprudence degree in Healthcare Law and Policy from Texas A&M School of Law.

Dr. Hutson is married with two sons and resides at his Knox City ranch when he is not in Lubbock.

Gates B. Colbert, MD FASN is a practicing Nephrologist with Kidney and Hypertension Associates of Dallas and a Clinical Associate Professor with Texas A&M College of Medicine in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Colbert also serves as the Nephrology Program Co-Director at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He completed his Clinical Nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He is triple board-certified with Internal Medicine and Nephrology certifications and is a certified Hypertension Specialist.

Dr. Colbert is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and serves on the International Society of Nephrology Cardio-Renal Steering Committee and on the Board of the National Kidney Foundation Texas Chapter. He is also a Faculty Member of the Nephrology Social Media Collective @DoctorGates. Dr. Colbert is active in renal disease research and has numerous peer-reviewed and online publications to his credit.

Dr. Tanvi Dhere, MD is a board-certified gastroenterologist and a Clinical Associate Professor with Emory University School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, Clostridium difficile, and fecal transplant. She has published extensively on these topics with over 100 peer reviewed publications. She currently helps to oversee the GI curriculum for first- and second-year Emory medical students and teaches/supervises GI fellows in training. She has also been invited to lecture regionally, nationally, and internationally on various GI topics.

Dr. Dhere has received numerous awards including the Georgia Crohn's and Colitis Foundation Premier Physician Award, the inaugural Emory Division of Digestive Diseases Educator Award, and the Emory School of Medicine Dean's Award. She also serves on several national committees.

Dr. Vinay Kumar holds a master's degree in biotechnology from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, India, as well as a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Presently at Pennsylvania State University, he conducts thorough studies of dysregulated innate and adaptive immunological networks and their function in modulating the pathophysiology of myocardial infarction (MI) and chronic heart failure (HF).

Dr. Kumar is especially interested in determining the function of T-cell subsets and the time-dependent phenotypic changes that these cells endure during chronic HF. In addition, he is interested in identifying and devising novel strategies to reverse pathological changes in immune cells in preparation for their transition from the laboratory to the clinic. His training in physiology, immunology, and molecular biology equips him with unique perspectives to research heart failure and develop mechanism-based, clinically applicable immune-therapeutic strategies.

Dr. Xudong Zhu obtained his BMed, M.D., and PhD from China Medical University (Shenyang, China). Now, he is an Assistant Professor at the Cancer Hospital of Dalian University of Technology and a Post-doctoral Scholar at Markey Cancer Center of University of Kentucky. 

His research is mainly focused on the pathogenesis of endocrinology-related diseases including endocrinology-related cancer, especially breast cancer, and gastroenterology-related disease including hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric carcinoma and others. He is also focused on screening and validating small molecular compounds which could effectively target and kill endocrinology-related and gastroenterology-related solid cancer cells.

Dr. Zhu has published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals with a total impact factor of nearly 200. He is a regular peer reviewer for manuscripts submitted to SCI journals and is a member of the Editorial Board of 7 English journals.

Prof Giuseppe Giannaccare is an Ophthalmologist who graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2009 with full marks and honors at the Campus Biomedico University of Rome (Italy). He completed the residency program in Ophthalmology at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna (Italy) with full marks and honors in 2015. At the same University he carried out a PhD in Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences completed in 2017.

Professor Giannaccare’s academic career started in 2017 at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna as Researcher. In 2019 he became Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro (Italy). Since 2023, he is Full Professor of Ophthalmology, Chairman of Eye Clinic and Director of Ophthalmology Residency Program at the University of Cagliari (Italy).

Professor Giannaccare is the author of 307 publications indexed in Scopus (H index 41). He has received numerous national and international awards, including the Scientific Research Award of the Italian Ophthalmological Society in 2018 (funding of 25,000 €) and the Guinness World Records for having taken part as co-author at the greatest scientific work in terms of collaborators (n=15,025). Principal investigator of various projects funded by the Italian Minister of University and Research (PRIN).

From 2015 to 2017, Professor Giannaccare served as Directive Board Member for the Young Ophthalmologists at the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) and currently he is the National Representative for Italy. Since 2019 he is Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology and since 2023 Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences.

From 2019 to 2023, Professor Giannaccare was Directive Board Member for the Italian Society of Corneal and Ocular Surface Transplantation (SITRAC). Since 2024 he is Italian Ambassador for Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) and European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER). His main research areas concern medical and surgical pathologies of cornea and ocular surface.

Dr. Kishi has been practicing at the Department of Psychiatry, Fujita Health University School of Medicine, Toyoake, Japan, since 2002. In 2010 and 2011, he spent two years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York. Dr. Kishi is a Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Fujita Health University School of Medicine. Dr. Kishi has been performing a series of clinical trials for the treatment of schizophrenia and mood disorder. His research focus is also evidence-based medicine in schizophrenia and mood disorder with a focus on meta-analyses. Moreover, he has a research interest in psychiatric genetics, pharmacogenetics, compliance enhancement strategies and medical decision making. He has authored/co-authored more than 240 articles.
