This section considers rigorous, clinically relevant work that crosses multiple specialties - particularly those addressing multimorbidity, complex diagnostics, imaging and biomarker discovery, therapeutic decision-making and patient-centered outcomes. It focuses on broad subject areas, covering multifaceted approaches in a variety of disease, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life. Also, we welcome research that addresses contemporary challenges to bridge the gap between clinical guidelines and real-world practice in all aspects of general medicine, such as the integration of novel therapies and technologies, and understanding complex conditions across diverse patient populations in various acute and chronic medical conditions.

Topics included are diagnostic excellence and risk prediction (e.g., imaging, biomarkers, and validated clinical models); direct clinical applicability from foundational research; epidemiology; disease pathogenesis; transitional care; translational research; hospital and critical care outcomes; chronic disease across cardiometabolic, endocrine, respiratory, infectious, and gastrointestinal conditions; women’s and reproductive health; musculoskeletal and pain syndromes; and ophthalmic findings with systemic implications.
