This section welcomes high-quality original research articles and comprehensive reviews spanning the breadth of regenerative medicine, with a focus on strategies that restore, replace, or enhance the function of damaged tissues and organs. While clinically oriented, the section also encourages rigorous translational, preclinical, and mechanistic laboratory studies that advance human health, including biomarker and genetic investigations relevant to regenerative processes and therapy response. We particularly value work that bridges discovery to application—clarifying biological mechanisms of regeneration, establishing robust manufacturing and quality attributes, and demonstrating safety, durability, and functional benefit in clinically meaningful models. Special attention is given to contemporary challenges in the field, including standardization, scalability, long-term efficacy, immune compatibility, and responsible clinical translation of emerging regenerative technologies.
Topics included are stem and progenitor cell biology; tissue engineering and biomaterials (including hydrogels and scaffolds); extracellular vesicles and regenerative secretomes; gene and genome editing for repair; RNA- and protein-based regenerative therapeutics; immunomodulation and inflammation in tissue regeneration; wound healing and fibrosis control; organoids and organ-on-chip platforms; 3D bioprinting and advanced manufacturing; regenerative rehabilitation; angiogenesis and vascular regeneration; neural, musculoskeletal, cardiac, hepatic, renal, pulmonary, and skin regeneration; transplantation and graft engineering; in vivo reprogramming; clinical trial design, endpoints, and real-world outcomes in regenerative therapies; safety, biodistribution, and tumorigenicity assessment; and regulatory, ethical, and quality-by-design considerations for clinical-grade products.
